The following photographs were taken in September 2024 during a photography residency in Casentino, organized by the "Centro Italiano della Fotografia d'Autore."
I decided to focus on the transformation processes that are slowly redefining modern "rural landscapes," places that, compared to the past, are increasingly connected to global society. These connections manifest in various forms: from communication to tourism, to the presence of an increasingly multicultural population that enriches the social and cultural fabric of the area.
At the heart of this project are the young people who have chosen to stay or return to Casentino, committed to promoting sustainable agricultural and livestock practices in contrast to industrial logic.
